Laws on Gene Manipulation and Editing

And our Research and Reasoning Behind it

Who are we and why did we select our scientific topic?

I'm a paragraph. Click here to add your own text and edit me. It’s easy. Just click “Edit Text” or double click me to add your own content and make changes to the font. I’m a great place for you to tell a story and let your users know a little more about you.

Our names are Tom, Erik, and Paul, we are students of Ivanhoe Grammar School. We spent our first two years of secondary school at the Ridgeway campus before we were moved over to the University campus, to commence our third year at school. So far, our experience at the University campus has been great. We are enjoying a fresh new campus with marvelous facilities, lots of area to play outside and of course legions of space inside to collaborate and work together.

At the moment, we are studying an integrated topic called, Science of Life. Our task is to devise a big question related to a scientific dilemma.

We will research the issue and look to provide appropriate solutions to resolve the problem. We will develop an online web-based blog to deliver our research, findings, and ideas.  As you go through our web-page, you will discover plenty about our unit and find the answers to our question.

Our big question concentrates on the scientific area of gene editing and manipulation in humans. Hence, our big question, “What should the laws for gene editing be?” We selected this area of science as the area of gene editing interested all of us, especially the ethical, social and safety concerns related to the practice.

While you are reading through our web-based blog, you will also find out information and answers to more specific queries in gene editing, like what is gene editing, how can it be used, what are the latest scientific trends and concerns and what are the gene editing capabilities.

The process of our investigation allowed us to attend amazing lectures on related subjects like ethics and diseases. We also met and discussed our query with university subject matter experts from different fields, like cancer and malaria. Coupled with our own detailed research on the topic, we were able to introduce a pragmatic set of laws to hopefully govern the use of this new scientific discovery.

We thoroughly enjoyed this learning experience and hope you enjoy our web-based blog that includes research, findings, and solutions to this scientific problem.
